Apple Upside down cake (Eggless)

Vegetarian/Serves 6 - 8/Cooking time - 60 min


Upside down is a very nice option for family dinner night dessert it takes less effort and tastes good. Good for those who are fed up of creamy cakes as it is light and a blend of different textures.You can always use fruit of your choice or whatever is available at home.



Ingredients


All purpose flour - 2 cup

Brown Sugar - 1/4 cup + 1/4 cup

Yogurt - 3/4 cup

Baking Powder - 1 tsp

Baking Soda - 1/2 tsp

Apple - 1 medium

Oil (cooking oil)- 1/4 cup

Corn flour - 1 tbsp

Butter - 1/4 cup

Table salt - a pinch

Lemon juice - 1 tbsp


Lets Cook


Dry ingredients -


Sieve flour and add in baking powder baking soda and salt and keep the mixture aside.


Wet ingredients -


Mix 1/4 cup brown sugar, yogurt and oil together in a bowl till the ingredients mix properly.


Apple Crust -


  • Take a pan and pour in butter when it starts splattering add sugar 1/4 cup and let the mixture cook til the sugar starts melting (remember don't caramelize ) .


  • Cut apple into thin slices. Squeeze in lemon and pour in water this will avoid the apples to blacken.


  • Strain out water and put in cornflour, mix thoroughly.


Assemble -


  • Oil the baking pan properly .


  • Spread the butter sugar mixture at the bottom of pan.


  • Place the apple slices in desired pattern.


  • Mix the dry and wet ingredients in a bowl and mix properly. Add water to achieve consistency as shown in the video.


  • Pour cake batter over apple in baking pan.


  • Bake the cake in preheated oven at 180°C for 10 minutes then bake at 180°C for 40-45 min.


  • Check it with toothpick if comes out clean the cake is cooked.


  • Take your cake out of the oven and let it cool down.


  • Turn it upside down.


Your Apple upside down cake is ready.Serve it as it is or with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream.
