Bharva Bhindi is an authentic recepie from the grannies of India. A very tasty and easy way to eat Okra. People mostly complain about okra recepies getting sticky but our recepie will not get sticky as there is no added water in it (that makes it sticky). In my video i have shown how to cover the pan in a different way that is a way of keeping the natural moisture in food.
Ingredients
Ladies Finger (Okra) - 250 gm
Onion - 1 medium
Coriander Powder - 3 tsp
Salt - 1 tsp (According to taste)
Red Chili Powder - 1/2 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp
Dried Mango Powder - 1 tsp
Carom seeds - 1/4 tsp
asafoetida - pinch
Roasted gram flour- 2 tsp
Garam masala (powder) - 1 tsp
Cooking oil - 4 tbsp
Preparation
Onion - Chop and peel onion(This is optional , People who do not eat onion can leave onion)
Ladies Finger - Wash and Slit the ladies finger as shown in the video.
Lets Cook
Mix Garam Masala, roasted gram flour, asafoetida, carom seeds, dried mango powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder , salt and 2 tbsp cooking oil.
Stuff the spice mixture in split okra properly.
Pour in 2 tbsp oil in the pan and heat oil , and turn the flame to sim.
Put the chopped onion in the pan and let them half cook.
Place all the okra in the pan over half cooked onions.
Cover the pan with a plate.
Pour some water on the plate, this will keep some moisture in the okra.
Let them cook on sim flame for around 8- 10 min till the okra is cooked.
Check them if they are cooked and turn them over if required .
Remove the lid.
Your Stuffed okra is ready .Serve it hot with chapati or as side dish.
