Jaggery Modak

Modak is a festive food. Ganesh Chaturthi is a celebration of birth of lord Ganesha. Modak is one of the favorite and dear sweet to Lord Ganesha (an Indian god). This Ganesh Chaturthi enjoy a totally healthy Modak made up of Nuts and jaggery as a sweetener. No additional sugar added.


Vegan / serves - 4 / Cooking time - 30 min


Ingredients


Jaggery - 1 Cup

Peanuts - 1 Cup

Desiccated Coconut - 1/2 Cup

Sesame Seeds - 1/4 Cup

Lotus Seeds (Makhana) - 1 Cup

Cardamom Powder - 1 Pinch

Clarified Butter (Ghee) - 2 Tbsp


Preparations -


Peanuts - Dry roast, remove skin and crush in blender

Desiccated Coconut - Dry roast.

Sesame seeds - Dry roast

Lotus Seeds - Dry Roast and crush in blender.


Lets Cook -

  • Crush desiccated coconut with jaggery in blender.


  • Mix properly crushed jaggery, desiccated coconut,crushed peanuts, sesame seeds, crushed lotus seeds and add ghee (clarified butter).


  • We re using orange juicer head as a modak mould. Oil it properly.


  • Fill in the mixture properly in the mould.


  • Take out the mixture from mould.


Your modak is ready. Offer it to god or eat it as it is. Enjoy it with family and friends.
