Ingredients
(Semolina and wholewheat) elbow macaroni - 2 cups
Tomatoes - 4 medium
Garlic - 1 bulb
Onion - 1/2
Pepper - 1 tsp
Oregano - 1 tsp
Olive oil - 1 tbsp
Butter - 1 tbsp
This is a very light and healthy alternative of store bought red sauce pasta mix u can always make this recepie any time and it is less time taking. Best for pasta cravings.
Macaroni - take drinking water and add salt and oil while the water boils , add the macaroni in boiling water. After the macaroni is Al- Dante turn off the flame, strain it in a strainer and wash the macaroni in cold water thoroughly (this will avoid the macaroni from sticking together) . Keep it aside.
Red sauce - Preheat oven for about 5 minutes at 320°C . Oil pan and bake tomatoes, garlic and onion in oven at 320°C for not more than 8 minutes. U can also use the grill pan for grilling the veggies but that might take more than 20 minutes for grilling.
Let it cool down for a while and peel off the skin.
Blend it properly in a blender to make it a puree.
Lets Cook
Turn on the flame and pour in olive oil and put in butter.
Let the butter bubble.
Now pour in the puree , salt ,pepper and oregano and let it cook for not more than 1 min.
At the end turn off the flame and pour in boiled elbow macaroni and give a nice stir.
Your red sauce macaroni is ready.
