This recepie is inspired from a rural Recepie called Gehu ki Kheer from Rajasthan in India. This recepie is also Very famous in the Egyptian desert region called as Egyptian Ashura. This recepie is made out of Pelted Wheat. This is a perfect recepie for festive season. We are making this recepie on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi.
Vegetarian/ Serves 4 / Cooking Time-45 min
Ingredients
Milk (Full Fats)- 1 Liter
Pelted Wheat - 1 Cup
Condensed Milk - 2 Tbsp
Flavor - Saffron
Cashew - 8
Almonds - 8
raisins - 8
Pistachios - 8
Arrowroot Powder/cornflour- 1 Tbsp
Preparations -
Wheat - Soak pelted Wheat in water overnight.
Saffron - Dip Saffron in cold milk.
Nuts - Dry roast and cut cashew, almonds and pistachios.
Arrowroot - Diallute the powder in cold water.
Lets Cook -
Boil pelted wheat in water for 2 whistle in pressure cooker.
Boil milk and put in the boiled wheat in the boiled milk .
Let wheat cook in milk for around 30 minutes.
After 30 minutes pour in saffron , cashew, Almonds and pistachios.
Pour in condensed milk and arrowroot and keep it stirring for a while.
Turn off the flame.
Your Whole Wheat Pudding is ready , serve it hot or let it cool down on room temperature and serve it cold.
